Prom last year ^^^^^Let me begin by saying that senior prom is supposed to be the greatest thing about senior year, period. Although I went last year, I hope it doesn't even compare to what this year will be like. Although our senior president is an idiot and already screwed up the actual prom, I hope that it's worth the price. This year we were given three options of having a very simple prom with literally no decorations, a moderate prom, or an all out prom, each varying in price. Personally, I voted for the cheapest one because I really could care less what the actual prom looked like, although it would have been nice to have an amazing all-out prom. All together, the expenses of prom completely cross the line. Of course there's the dress, shoes, manicure, pedicure, make up, hair, limo, hotel, liquor, and the list goes on! I sympathize for my poor parents who have to pay all this just to make sure I have an unforgettable senior prom! I'm just hoping it meets my expectations or even exceeds them!

I agree with this. I am not going to prom this year but I would like an all out prom for next year. Even though my dad would want me to pick the most expensive one, I wouldn't because I feel for all the less fortunate kids who can't afford it. It is not fair to even put students in this position. Prom is supposed to be a memorable event so it will be sad to see that some of my friends can't go because they can't afford it.
